Located on Hurworth Street in Bowen Hills, the Richmond Apartments represent significant advancements in the provision of mixed-tenure accommodation within a single
strata-titled building.

As specified within the brief, the development was requested to provide affordable housing units for the National Rental Accommodation Scheme (NRAS) and provide communal areas to encourage social engagement. MODE designed the building as a
107 unit medium-rise residential development with the inclusion of single room studio apartments, two and three bedroom apartments and three bedroom city homes.
With this innovative combination of housing types, MODE ensured that the apartments were flexible and adaptable to suit people with varying levels of mobility. Sustainable lifestyles are encouraged with dedicated vegetable gardens and the building’s close proximity to transport links to place a greater emphasis on walking, cycling and
public transport.
