Q-Pharm Clinical Trials

The project comprised a major refurbishment of a level within the QIMR Clive Berghofer Centre for Medical Research to house the relocated Q-Pharm facility.

The unit provides a space for the conduct of early phase clinical trials and accommodates up to 45 volunteers. MODE worked closely with both Q-Pharm staff and the QIMR team throughout the project to maximise the efficiency and amenity of the layout, ensure the medical facilities were appropriate for the intended use and improve wayfinding and visual connections to the broader Centre. Close attention was paid to the amenity and comfort provided for the volunteers with a media and dining room, individual storage facilities and warm finishes. Aesthetic qualities such as a feature wall were utilised to create a pleasant, non-clinical feel and reinforce Q-Pharm branding.
