Curtin Clinical Simulation Lab, WA
Following MODEs work on the Project Definition Plan for the Faculty of Health Sciences, the team continued to develop the Clinical Simulations Laboratory design with the project stakeholders.
The project outcome looked to simulate health facility standards and practices whilst being flexible and dynamic as required of modern university teachings principles.
Consisting of four separate labs and a total of 32 patient beds with full bed services and equipment, allows students to practice their skills in environments conducive to real world facilities. Interconnected overhead bed speakers, microphones and cameras lift the demonstration capabilities within each lab. Whilst the cameras above scrub sinks provide new top-down learning capabilities for the students.
MODE collaborated closely with stakeholders and consultants to merge teaching methods with new professional technologies. The team designed and delivered the staffs wet and dry preparation stores which features large mannequin storage, equipment and various teaching aids necessary to complete simulated practical experiences.
Muted and calming colour pallets were chosen to be inconspicuous for students whilst adding a sense vibrancy and lightness to the spaces.
MODE are thrilled to deliver projects which bring positive influences on the future health system which being in spaces like these simulation laboratories will have. MODE and the team endeavored to provide high level of precision and finishes.
