Wardle Street

Organised around open breezeways and communal open space over 4 levels, the Wardle St. affordable housing project delivers 32 one-bedroom units designed to provide optimal affordable living solutions that capitalise on the outdoor living opportunities of its sub-tropical setting.

Client: Brisbane Housing Company
Location: Mt Gravatt East, QLD

Two different housing typologies designed to meet the Liveable Housing Australia standards for Gold & Silver performance levels respectively, and ample outdoor and indoor communal space, intend to promote tenant interaction and provide the Brisbane Housing Company’s tenant pool with a housing solution that is also capable of promoting vibrant community living.

With a material and finishes palette carefully selected for resilience and reliability, the project is expected to provide decades of dignified housing that aligns with our client’s values for long-standing asset holding and management.

The Wardle St. affordable housing project represents an important step in MODE’s continuing trajectory of collaboration with Community Housing Providers to deliver architectural solutions that deliver value to its stakeholders and actively benefit their community.
