LGAQ-LAB Identity Design

Identity is more than a logo for this innovation centre at the Local Government Association of Queensland.

The project allowed the Graphic and Interior Design teams to work collaboratively to create a unique and marketable space for LGAQ.

The LAB naming takes advantage of the common ‘L’ and ‘A’ in both acronyms and providing a more concise brandname. Inspired by the way innovation often occurs at the intersection of overlapping perspectives (part of what the lab aims to do) - the words overlap in a crossword/pixel format. This also alludes to problem solving and digital technology.

The colour palette was based on the existing blue of the LQAG brand and complimented with warm oranges for the word LAB.

These graphics and associated colours were integrated into the interior design of the space occurring concurrently.
