Doohan Reserve Clubhouse

MODE was engaged by Landcom to design and deliver two clubhouses as part of the Oran Park development at Doohan Reserve.

Client: Urban Growth NSW
Location: Oran Park, NSW

The development situates two clubhouses on a multi-level site with sporting facilities.
Both clubhouse buildings have been designed to respond to the surrounding context and utilise the history of the site, and namesake, to include elements that create a cohesive design. The design has been inspired by the historical Oran Park Raceway, taking cues from the elements such as the checker flag patterns, rhythmic repetition of elements and patterns on the racetrack, and the signature helmet worn by Mick Doohan. These design elements have been implemented by applying patterns to clubhouses cladding materials, combined with the juxtaposition façade elements, such as the opaque concrete block walls with openings into the buildings.
