JULY 2021

MODE are thrilled to be working with Hutchinson Builders and Wishlist (Sunshine Coast Health Foundation) in delivering this important health infrastructure project for the Sunshine Coast community.

Located within the Oceanside Health Hub, the brand new $14M centre is an innovative facility providing transitionary accommodation and supportive health and well-being services for patients, their families, and the community.

Within growing communities like those in the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) catchment, the design and delivery of key health infrastructure is vital to providing long-term support and benefits through affordable accommodation, specialist services, reduced travel for rural patients, and health-based education and learning activities.

MODE’s concept for the four-level centre includes not only health and accommodation services but provides the opportunity for like-minded health organisations to fill the ground floor commercial tenancies.

An ambitious and innovative project, MODE’s Sunshine Coast Studio Director Suzannah Harvey said the project will play an important role in meeting the current and future needs of the growing community.

“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to work with a team like Wishlist that provides such an important service to the community on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding regional areas. Within the community, there is a need for mental and physical health services to be further developed. Wishlist, through the provision of facilities and services supports this much needed growth.

In attendance at the sod-turn on Thursday July 29 was Lisa Rowe (Wishlist CEO), Andrew Wallace MP (Federal Member for Fisher), Scott Hutchinson (Hutchinson Builders) and Tony Long (Wishlist Project Leader), all lining up to toss the soil.
